Hannes Snellman Counsel to Cargotec in the Partial Demerger of Cargotec and Separation of Kalmar into a New Listed Company

Hannes Snellman is acting as lead counsel to Cargotec Corporation in the separation of its Kalmar business area by way of a partial demerger into a new listed company, Kalmar Corporation. Kalmar offers a wide range of industry shaping heavy material handling equipment and services to ports and terminals, distribution centres, manufacturing, and heavy logistics. Kalmar operates globally in over 120 countries, the company’s sales on a carve-out basis in 2023 totalled approximately EUR 2 billion, and it employed around 5,000 people on a carve-out basis as at 31 March 2024.

The planned completion date of the demerger is 30 June 2024. Upon the completion of the demerger, the class B shares of Kalmar Corporation are to commence trading on the official list of Nasdaq Helsinki.
