Hannes Snellman Counsel to the State of Finland and Its Defence Forces in the Procurement of a Fighter Aircraft System

Hannes Snellman acted as a legal advisor to the State of Finland and its Defence Forces in the project to procure a fighter aircraft system to replace its current fleet of 64 F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.
The government's overall budget for the procurement was EUR 10 billion.
Our advisory work in this strategically important assignment lasted for several years and included advising on and negotiating procurement and support contracts for the competing aircraft systems, including weapons, and a wide range of legal matters in relation to, for instance, IPR and data security, state aid, and finance.
Hannes Snellman's core team was headed by the assignment's responsible partners Rabbe Sittnikow and Maria Landtman, and it included Katja Perätalo, Samuli Pirinen, Janna Pihanurmi, Carolina Lefort Ahokanto, and Emmi Nuutila (Projects, Infrastructure), Jesper Nevalainen (IPR, Technology), Markus Manninen and Olli Mäkelä (Dispute Resolution), Mikko Huimala and Meri Dahlqvist (Competition and State Aid), Antti Nyberg and Matias Moberg (Finance), and legal assistants Anni Pöllänen, Nora Mansikka, and Jessica Riipi.
