Aleksi Maunumäki is an associate with a focus on environmental law, serving both domestic and international clients. His experience spans advising entities in the bio-based, chemical, mining, and energy sectors, and he has been involved in solar PV, hydrogen, Power-to-X, and Waste-to-X projects. He has specialised knowledge in chemical and waste legislation, with regulatory insights at their intersection.

Before joining Hannes Snellman, Aleksi was part of an engineering consultancy firm, advising on environmental law, covering environmental liabilities, permitting, and product safety compliance. He has been involved in various industrial and energy projects from the pre-feasibility stage through to permitting and administrative court appeals, as well as remediation and closure.

His legal practice is informed by a solid understanding of regulatory requirements and a focus on sustainable client solutions, complemented by a practical perspective to his legal advice.
