Hannes Snellman promotes internal talent and strengthens its team dealing with situations of financial distress, in response to the increasing demand for legal services in this area. Jan Lilius, who heads Hannes Snellman’s insolvency practice, has been appointed as a specialist partner, and Mikko Tavast, an experienced restructuring and insolvency expert, joins the firm as a senior associate.

Jan Lilius has extensive experience in all sorts of matters relating to insolvency, such as administering bankruptcy estates and companies undergoing restructuring proceedings, as well as advising creditors and securing their rights in insolvency proceedings. Jan also has considerable knowledge and experience in the field of litigation and arbitration more generally, which backs up his ability to serve our clients in various demanding situations.

Mikko Tavast specialises in insolvency matters and especially in formal corporate restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings. Prior to joining Hannes Snellman, Mikko has gained several years of experience from working in another leading attorneys-at-law office, where he has been involved in a wide range of formal corporate restructuring and bankruptcy cases, some of which rank among the largest in Finland.
