Case Reports Written by Anna-Maria Tamminen and Viktor Saavola Published in ITA Arbitration Report
11 December 2024
Partner Anna-Maria Tamminen and Senior Associate Viktor Saavola from Hannes Snellman’s Dispute Resolution Team have written two case reports for the latest volume of KluwerArbitration ITA Arbitration Report.
In the first case, the Helsinki Court of Appeal held that the parties to an arbitration procedure can effectively agree that an arbitral award be rendered without reasoning and that this is not contrary to public policy. In the second case, the Eastern Finland Court of Appeal overturned the District Court’s decision and found that an application for the enforcement of an arbitral award is such a discretionary matter where the losing party can be ordered to pay the legal costs of the prevailing party, regardless of whether the party had opposed to the application for enforcement.
You can read the case reports in KluwerArbitration ITA Arbitration Report, Volume No. 11, Issue No. XXII, published on 5 December 2024. The report is available here.
