Hannes Snellman Partners with The Shortcut
3 October 2024
Hannes Snellman is thrilled to announce partnership with The Shortcut, an impact-driven non-profit organisation dedicated to bridging the gap between professionals from abroad seeking employment in Finland and Finnish companies. The Shortcut provides in-demand training and fosters a growth mindset within the community. Deeply embedded in the startup ecosystem, The Shortcut is funded by the Startup Foundation.
Our collaboration with The Shortcut began during the SuomiAreena discussion event, in which Riikka Loisamo, CEO of The Shortcut, participated as a panelist. The discussion explored critical questions and sought solutions for retaining one of Finland’s vital future resources: international expertise. Finland needs international expertise and diversity to address labour shortages, remain competitive, and promote economic growth. The Finnish Government aims to attract more foreign students and professionals to Finland. But how can Finland and Finnish companies attract and retain foreign talent and returnees? How can we tackle challenges and provide opportunities in the Finnish labour market and society? How do we promote an open and inclusive work environment where everyone, regardless of nationality, can utilise their skills and creativity? These are important topics that Hannes Snellman wishes to support, and The Shortcut is doing significant work in this field.
“By becoming our Community Partner, Hannes Snellman demonstrates their commitment to supporting the international talent community. We are also eagerly awaiting their legal experts to visit and teach our new Spark entrepreneurs about the basics of Finnish contract laws later in the program”, says Riikka Loisamo, CEO of The Shortcut.
“Supporting the international talent community in Finland is very close to my heart. Having moved to Finland from abroad myself, I understand the challenges of finding a job, especially in the more conservative sectors of society. We are very happy to partner with The Shortcut and be part of a community supporting international talent in Finland. We believe that Finland’s attractiveness and competitiveness are enhanced when society comes together to welcome and integrate others”, says Ricardo Gomes, Senior Associate from our Dispute Resolution Team, who also participated as a panelist in this year’s SuomiAreena discussion event.
