Partner Katja Perätalo from our Real Assets practice area and Managing Associate Matti Tyynysniemi from our Dispute Resolution team will be speaking at Alma Insights’ Construction Disputes Seminar (Rakennusriitapäivä) organised by the Association of Finnish Lawyers on Wednesday 20 November 2024.

Katja and Matti will be discussing and comparing the General Conditions for Building Contracts (YSE1998) and the terms and conditions of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) from a dispute resolution point of view. They will be focusing on the differences between these two sets of terms and conditions on a more general level as well as in terms of claim procedures and dispute resolution.

Katja is specialised in EPC & EPCM projects (based on FIDIC terms and otherwise), projects based on disaggregated contracting/procurement strategies, and Contracts & Claims Management leadership both on a global organisational level and within a particular project or contract. She works on projects across industries ranging from renewable energy, green hydrogen, nuclear and bioproducts to production plants and facilities within e.g. oil and gas, defence, food, and pharma.

Matti practices arbitration and litigation, and he focuses particularly on disputes involving construction, engineering, project delivery, and related topics. Matti also has experience in, for instance, disputes involving the energy sector, joint ventures and shareholder disputes, commercial lease agreements, and real estate transactions.
