Hannes Snellman Counsel to BHG Group in FAI Arbitration

Hannes Snellman successfully represented a BHG Group company (“BHG”) in a dispute concerning the redemption price applicable to the shares in a subsidiary jointly owned with minority shareholders. The dispute, which was resolved through FAI arbitration in Helsinki, involved a monetary value exceeding EUR 20 million. The arbitral tribunal upheld BHG’s position on the redemption price and ordered the minority shareholders to pay liquidated damages to BHG. Additionally, BHG received full compensation for its legal costs.

BHG Group is a major consumer e-commerce company listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The dispute concerned the interpretation of certain provisions of a shareholders’ agreement governed by Finnish law and pertaining to a Finnish subsidiary.
