Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki has appointed our partner, Doctor of Laws Klaus Ilmonen as professor of practice with a focus on corporate governance and corporate law.
”It is very interesting to serve as a professor of practice at Hanken School of Economics. These are particularly interesting times in corporate law – corporations are facing a rapidly evolving technological and political environment setting new requirements for conducting business. I look forward to interacting with the faculty and students in combining legal and business perspectives to corporations and corporate governance.”
Klaus Ilmonen’s practice focuses on corporate transactions of listed companies, including IPOs and public takeovers, with an emphasis on international capital markets regulation. He has recently advised Terveystalo Plc in what was the largest IPO in Finland in more than two decades, as well as Kildare Partners in their EUR 730 million tender offer for Technopolis Plc and Pöyry Plc in relation to the EUR 611 million recommended bid for the company by ÅF AB (publ) from Sweden.
The doctorate research of Klaus Ilmonen focused on corporate governance in listed companies with concentrated ownership and his current research relates to corporate governance of state-owned enterprises.
Alongside his practice, he will now continue to teach classes and seminars on corporate law for business and law students.
