Markus Manninen to Serve as Arbitrator in the CAS Anti-Doping Division for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games
29 January 2018
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is preparing to open two temporary offices on the site of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Counsel Markus Manninen, who heads our cross-practice team specialising in Sports, Media and Entertainment law, will act as arbitrator in the CAS Anti-Doping Division for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games.
The CAS Anti-Doping Division will be in charge of doping-related matters arising during the Games as a first-instance authority. This structure, in operation for the second time after its inauguration at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, will handle potential doping cases referred to it in accordance with the IOC Anti-doping Rules. The arbitrators selected to participate in this special CAS structure are all experienced lawyers, judges or professors specialised in sports law and arbitration.
