Hannes Snellman’s Involvement in Corporate Citizenship in 2018

17 December 2018

Hannes Snellman has a long tradition in corporate citizenship and pro bono work. One of our traditions is to make annual donations to charities that share our values. In 2018, Hannes Snellman has decided to support globally UNICEF and WWF, the latter in particular for its work for the prevention of climate change and global warming. Locally, we support Aseman Lapset ry in Finland and Vid Din Sida in Sweden.

Hannes Snellman has a long-standing partnership with UNICEF, which has a long and successful history in helping the unfortunate, and we wanted to continue our support to UNICEF also this year.

The other charities for this year’s donations were proposed by our employees. WWF works to advance policies to fight climate change, engages with businesses to reduce carbon emissions, and helps people and nature adapt to a changing climate. Aseman Lapset ry works to provide safe, respectful, and supportive contacts between adults and young people everywhere in Finland. Vid Din Sida supports elderly homeless and disadvantaged people in Sweden.

Based on the discussions with our Corporate Citizenship Team and our employees, we all share the concern towards our mutual environment and planet and people living on it. In addition, it seems quite important to our people to also make a concrete impact in our nearby societies, and for that reason, we have chosen both global and local charities to support this year”, says Partner Markus Bremer, who coordinates Hannes Snellman’s corporate citizenship work.

In addition to our traditional annual donations, we have also carried out several other initiatives brought up by our employees, and we are, for example, participating in the Finnish Joulupuu charity collection.

We have a firm belief that by serving the public good, we translate our values into action.
