Hannes Snellman Joint Counsel to Nordea Bank, OP Osuuskunta and the Joint Venture Company Siirto Brand

Hannes Snellman acted as joint counsel to Nordea Bank Abp, OP Osuuskunta and the joint venture company Siirto Brand Oy in the transaction whereby Nordea and OP expanded the operations of their 50/50 owned joint venture. The JV will provide solutions that enable easy, secure, and account-based payment transactions and will broaden the range of account-based payment options in Finland. The completion of the transaction was conditional upon obtaining merger control clearance in Finland. After an in-depth Phase II review by the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority, unconditional clearance was secured by parties for this important transaction and cooperation.

The competition law workstream was led by Jenni Heurlin who was supported by Annika Grönholm (Competition and Regulatory). The other Hannes Snellman’s core team comprised Tuire Kuronen, Wilma Montonen and Vivi Jaatinen (M&A and Corporate), Lasse Riski (IP & Tech), and Anna Nyberg (Employment).
