Hannes Snellman Counsel to DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale in the Project Financing of Project Piiparinmäki, the Largest Wind Farm in Finland

The ready-to-build onshore wind farm is located in Kainuu on land owned by the State of Finland. Once constructed, it will have a capacity of 211.4MW and will be one of the largest unsubsidised wind farms in Europe. The project has been developed by Ilmatar Energy, a joint venture between Omnes-managed Capenergie 3 and Ilmatar Windpower Plc, and is owned by the Glennmont Partners-managed Glennmont Clean Energy Fund III, which acquired the project in connection with the financing. DekaBank will provide the senior debt package as a sole underwriter. A significant portion of the production of the wind farm will be sold to Google under a long-term power purchase agreement.
