Partner Maria Wasastjerna’s Interview in Talouselämä Magazine’s Business Law - Biggest Law Firms 2019 Issue

Maria Wasastjerna, Partner and Co-head of our Competition practice in Finland, was interviewed on her doctoral dissertation by Talouselämä, the biggest weekly business magazine in the Nordic region, for its Business Law - Biggest law firms issue. Maria’s doctoral dissertation is entitled ”Competition, Data and Privacy in the Digital Age: Testing Conventional Boundaries and Expanding Horizons - Towards A Privacy Dimension in Competition Policy?” and it addresses the interpretation of competition law in the data economy. The question is whether a traditional interpretation of competition law is enough or whether the interpretation should be broadened towards the protection of privacy as well.

Maria Wasastjerna will defend her doctoral dissertation on 19 October 2019. Associate Professor Orla Lynskey will serve as the opponent and Professor Johan Bärlund as the custos.
