Managing Associate Sarita Schröder Starts as Hannes Snellman’s Legal Technologist
19 January 2022
Sarita Schröder from Hannes Snellman’s IP & Technology Practice in Helsinki has been appointed as a legal technologist and will rotate to the Tech & Innovation Team until the summer of 2022. In her new role, Sarita will be focusing on project management, service design, and the effective use of our current digital tools.
“I hope my upcoming work will contribute to improving the work lives of my colleagues and our clients as well as to making our firm better prepared for the disruptive threats I am convinced our still very conservative industry will increasingly face in the coming years. I also hope that this somewhat unconventional move will encourage lawyers in law firms in general to try non-legal roles, because although we need to be increasingly specialised within our respective fields of law, I believe we can all benefit from broadening our knowledge and skills outside the law”, says Sarita Schröder.
”Future lawyers will increasingly be expected to use technology, innovation, and design when providing legal services. However, these skills are not yet generally taught in law schools. I am really happy for Sarita’s rotation to our team as this provides a unique opportunity for us to combine our insights and further develop the way we as a firm and as teams and individuals strengthen these skills and capabilities to better serve our clients”, says Taina Tenhunen, Hannes Snellman’s Head of Tech & Innovation.
Hannes Snellman’s Tech & Innovation Team assists in matters that relate to knowledge management, such as model documents, legal online services, publications, and information searches. The team works with existing and new tools that enable document automation, eDiscovery, and machine-learning supported due diligence. In the heart of the team’s operation is ensuring that Hannes Snellman as an organisation is successful in identifying and capturing all ideas and pieces of innovation that arise in the firm’s daily work.
