Harri Vehviläinen's Article in Edilex (in Finnish)

Counsel Harri Vehviläinen from Hannes Snellman’s tax team has written an article in Edilex regarding tax efficient structures for infrastructure investments. Public-private partnerships in public infrastructure investments are of increasing importance especially for the Finnish national economy, which is burdened by a weakening old-age dependency ratio. However, the tax regulation of such structures has been quite insufficient in the past. Recent law changes have aimed to fix this, but there are still open questions e.g. related to the tax deductibility of interest on loans taken to finance such investments and to taxation of mutual real estate companies holding some movable assets in addition to immovable assets.
