Hannes Snellman Supports #1000tekoa Event in Turku

Hannes Snellman was one of the main partners of the #1000tekoa event, which provided food, support, and a sense of community to those in need.

Commu and its partners provided help and support to thousands of people in Turku on Saturday 24 August 2024. The event, called #1000tekoa, distributed 1,000 bags of food, offered 500 free lunches, and brought various services and associations under one roof. The event was attended by families with children, pensioners, students, Ukrainian families, and immigrants.

Riikka Rannikko, Managing Partner of Hannes Snellman Attorneys Ltd, also took part in the event together with her colleagues.

"#1000tekoa shows the power of community and how much can be achieved when participation is made simple for everyone and the needs and resources meet. You can join with a low threshold and with a clear role that suits you. The most memorable things are the atmosphere of the event, the warm encounters, and the well-planned, joyfully experienced day", Rannikko says.

According to Karoliina Kauhanen, Founder of Commu, the feedback from the event reflected the increased need for help but also the longing for community.

"We all need a helping hand or a listening ear at times," Kauhanen sums up the day by saying that "#1000tekoa is a demonstration of good deeds. Based on the feedback, I can proudly say that we were able to show again how much and how quickly we can achieve when we focus on good and do good together."

All of the food and supplies were distributed during the day. The food bags were booked in advance. The leftover food was delivered to the homeless in the Turku area through the Blue Ribbon Foundation.

Next, the #1000tekoa tour will be heading to Helsinki, where the event will be held on 30 November 2024 at the Redi shopping centre.

Numerous national and local partners join forces on the #1000tekoa tour to provide help and support to thousands of people.
