Protecting Your Company in Russia - Breakfast Seminar on 19 May

16 April 2015

We at Hannes Snellman would like to invite you to attend a breakfast seminar designed to provide you with some information useful for organizing your intellectual property rights’ protection in Russia. The seminar will be held on Tuesday 19 May at 9.00 - 11.00 a.m. at our Helsinki office (Eteläesplanadi 20). Breakfast will be served from 8.30 a.m.

The purpose of this seminar is to provide practical examples and advice in relation to the following topics:

Fighting the Good Fight: What Can You Do to Fight Counterfeiting in Russia?

The protection of intellectual property rights has come a long way since the early 1990s in Russia. Nevertheless, it is no secret that counterfeit goods still remain a major problem for businesses working in and importing to Russia. We look to explain some of the possibilities which your company may be able to use to make a major impact on counterfeit sales. What are the main obstacles and how can you avoid them? How many resources are required?

Personal Data (Over)Protection? How Do the New “Localisation” Requirements Affect My Business?

As of the time of this invitation, it remains unclear how the Russian government will implement amendments to personal data laws requiring “localisation” of all personal data. We look to provide a brief overview of Russian personal data protection and how it is changing in Russia in order to move to a discun on what your company may (or may not) be doing in relation to personal data in Russia. We will also provide an update on the localisation requirements and their implementation so that you can make an informed decision before the new amendments come into force on September 1 of this year.

We look forward to seeing you at the seminar!
