Summer Expectations

7 June 2018

Now the spring term is finally over, the exams are over, and the summer can start for real. For some students, this means taking a long break, and for some, it means having a summer job. This Monday, Oscar Gustafsson started as a summer trainee with us, and we are checking in to find out what his expectations are for the summer.

Oscar has just finished his seventh semester at Stockholm University, and he has worked with us as an evening receptionist since August 2017.
I have already got a good picture of Hannes Snellman as a workplace. My expectations for the summer are to gain an insight into life as a business lawyer, especially in the field of private M&A, which is what I will be working with.

After spending almost a year with us, Oscar has gained a sense of the Hannes Snellman culture.
The culture is humble and relaxed despite the fact that some of Sweden's sharpest business lawyers work here. I feel just as comfortable small-talking with a partner as I do with, for example, an associate or someone from the support staff. Everyone is treated equally here, no matter what position they have. It feels modern.”

Oscar feels that his time at Hannes Snellman has been educational and interesting, but what is his most fun memory from his time with us?
That would be the Christmas party. It was successful, it felt like everyone let loose and had fun. It was extra fun that some colleagues from the Finnish office were present too.

We are very happy to have Oscar with us and hope that he has a good summer!
