Get to Know Us | Panu Vikberg, Associate, Real Assets, Helsinki

18 November 2020

Panu works as an associate lawyer in the Real Assets Team in Helsinki. We wanted to know what Panu’s autumn has been like, and we also asked him a few questions about his work and career at Hannes.

What has your autumn been like?

Thanks for asking, it’s been great! It was quite nice to have an opportunity to see how summer turns into autumn while I was working outside the city for a few weeks in the autumn. As my loyal Lenovo is not picky about the location, an email or two were drafted while a deer family was having their lunch on the other side of the window. I am, however, at the same time impatiently waiting to meet again with my fellow colleagues at the office and to have a proper face-to-face conversation with them instead of just sending GIFs over Teams.

When did you decide that you were going to study law and to work as a lawyer?

It just crossed my mind at some point during high school, and ever since, it has been quite clear for me.

What is the best part of your job at Hannes Snellman?

In addition to my awesome colleagues, whom I already mentioned above, the fast-paced dynamics of the assignment work appeal to me, and to be honest, I actually find it somehow energising.

What is included in your “normal working day”?

It varies a lot depending, for example, on the phase of the project. Because of this and certain other things, the old phrase “you never know what to expect” applies here rather well. On the other hand, there are, of course, certain basic things that we do daily, such as sending emails and reviewing and drafting contracts and other documents.

How would you describe the Hannes Snellman culture?

My first impression was, and I still agree with it, that at Hannes, an encouraging and warm atmosphere high fives, in a good way, with ambitiousness and diligence.

What is your superpower?

Wow, that’s a tricky one! For a humble person, it is always hard to choose what should be mentioned out of many. But to mention one, I can make a super pour over coffee (to my taste), and as we all know during this “bright and colourful” season, a good cup of coffee is the very foundation of all superpowers.
