When did you start working at Hannes Snellman?

I joined Hannes Snellman in February 2018. I work as an HR business specialist in the HR team in Helsinki.

What is included in a “normal” working day?

I am the designated HR person for our Finance & M&A teams, which means I get to co-operate a lot with the heads of these teams, for example, when planning resourcing and new recruitments. This often means various meetings and interviews during my working days. Of course, I also try to keep up with how the team members are doing. In addition, I am responsible for our trainee programmes and trainee recruitment, so whenever we have vacant trainee positions, I am most likely going through applications or conducting interviews. At least some parts of my “normal” working days are usually also reserved for planning and organising different events or employer branding matters. Oh, and one thing is for sure—I always start my day with a cup of coffee.

Can you describe your working group?

In the HR team in Helsinki, I have five lovely colleagues, but we also work closely with Hannes Snellman’s brilliant HR team in Stockholm. However, I am lucky because due to the nature of my work, I get to co-operate closely with many of our firm’s lawyers, trainees, and other support groups.

What do you like about your job and what do you wish could be improved?

I truly like everything about my job, but if I had to name only one thing, I would have to say it is recruiting as I get to do it together with my Hannes colleagues, but at the same time I also get to meet a lot of new people. I guess time is of the essence in every job, so more hours to a day is probably the only thing I could wish for in terms of improvement.

Can you describe the Hannes Snellman culture?

In my opinion, Hannes Snellman’s employees are extremely driven, intelligent, and constantly wanting to improve both themselves and the firm, which further encourages everyone to do their very best. Therefore, I would definitely describe the culture as motivating. I have also been very impressed with how Hannes Snellman supports individual growth stories even though the company is big in size. We also have a lot of fun and laugh together, which makes it extra nice to come to work every day.
