Get to Know Us | Anne Åkerberg, Information Specialist, Helsinki
7 October 2020
How has your autumn started?
Very well, thank you! The weather has been warm and sunny the past few days, so I have spent a lot of time outdoors, which has given me a boost of energy.
Also, I have many interesting projects at my desk at work, and lately, things have started to speed up.
What is your professional background?
I worked with organisational learning and legal information for almost a decade before joining Hannes last spring. I am a firm believer in lifelong learning. Being up to date with the latest tools and trends in organisational learning helps me to develop Hannes Academy, our internal training programme, even further.
By education, I am a teacher and hold a BBA degree. Currently, I am doing my second master’s degree, this time in educational sciences at the University of Helsinki.
How would you describe your day-to-day work?
Every day is different, and that is what makes my job so interesting. I organise and develop Hannes Academy, help our KM trainees, and manage our library and information services.
My day-to-day tasks include planning future trainings, collaborating with different service providers, supporting trainees with research work and curating newsletters.
You act as a supervisor to KM trainees. What would you say are the 3 most important qualities for a KM trainee?
You will shine like a star in this position if you have a curious mind, a diligent way of working, and a can-do attitude.
What kinds of tasks do KM trainees work with?
They help all our business areas by carrying out research, gathering information, and dealing with the authorities. They also take care of our library services.
How would you describe the culture at Hannes Snellman?
Highly professional. It is truly inspiring to work among all these sharp minds. Everyone has also been very nice to me and welcomed me warmly to Hannes.
