We offer various different trainee programs for law students: part-time positions to accommodate your studies and exams and a full-time four-month Law Student Trainee Programme running two times a year. In addition, we offer opportunities for law students writing their master’s thesis.

Trainee Programmes

As an evening receptionist, you are offered an exciting and unique start to your career. You assist clients, lawyers, and support staff in the reception and conference facilities. Typical assignments include welcoming visitors, answering the phone and forwarding calls, managing bookings of conference rooms, and preparing meeting rooms.

The position entails work on one or two nights a week from 2.30 p.m. until 7.00 p.m.

Evening receptionists usually start in August or January. The position is available from your first semester at law school. You can get to know the head of our Reception Team Maria Ybring here.

As an evening legal assistant, you are offered a versatile position in which you get the opportunity to work with several of our practices and expand your network. You support our clients, lawyers, and support staff in various legal and administrative tasks, such as proofreading, drafting, and reviewing documents and agreements, conducting simple judicial investigations, formatting documents, contacting authorities and courts, and helping out in larger copying and scanning projects.

The position entails work on an hourly basis on one or two nights a week, normally from 3.30 p.m. until 8.00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and from 2.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m. on Fridays. The workdays are divided between all evening legal assistants and scheduled in advance.

Hannes Snellman can, as the only law firm in Sweden, proudly present the Law Student Trainee Programme (LSTP) during which you get to learn about the profession of a business lawyer already before graduating. During a four-month traineeship, you work full time on various assignments in one of our business area groups. Working at the office for such a long time, you get the full-on Hannes Snellman experience and truly get to learn how we work with our Swedish, Nordic, and international clients. You are involved in the projects from the very beginning to the very end.

As a law student trainee, you get the opportunity to take part in our internal education programme, Hannes Academy, which gives you important tools in your professional and personal development. You will also be assigned a mentor, who introduces you to your assignments and gives you practical guidance and support along the way.

The monthly salary for the position of law student trainee is SEK 20,000.

Law student trainees usually start in September or February. As a summer trainee, you get to gain valuable work experience, knowledge, skills, and contacts that are valuable on your way to becoming a successful lawyer. For 8 to 10 weeks, you work full time on various assignments in one of our business area groups. You work independently and as part of a team and get to participate in exciting and unique projects and learn how we work with our Swedish, Nordic, and international clients.

To apply for this position, you have to have studied at least six semesters at law school.

As a thesis trainee at Hannes Snellman, you work full time on various assignments in one of our business area groups for 8 to 10 weeks. You are assigned a mentor, who can advise you on your thesis, and you will have access to information services, such as databases, the library, and periodicals that will help you complete your thesis. Altogether, this is the perfect start for your thesis.
